Prissy has not had a wonderful start to her life, but her life got better the moment she became one of MAESSR’s babies. She was born to a breeder in rural Virginia and given to the breeder’s daughter. The daughter decided she could not keep her and took her back to her mother’s house. Prissy has lived her whole life outside with access to a basement. There was a 6 month period when Prissy lived on a chain because she was jumping the fence. Later when she was freed from the chain, she did not try to jump the fence again.
Prissy wants to be loved more than she wants to eat or breathe. She is happiest when she cannot get any closer to the people around her. She thrives on people hugging her and telling her what a wonderful girl she is. Prissy has not been socialized or trained in any way. Her new family will get to share the joy of her expanding world. MAESSR will require the adopting family to take Prissy to an obedience class in order to build her confidence in new situations. She is an extremely quick learner and would love the bonding time involved in going to “class”.
Prissy is not officially housebroken, but she has not had any accidents in her foster home. Her foster mom thinks that with just a little work, Prissy will fully understand the “potty” routine. Prissy is not crate trained and would prefer to not be crated. She is being crated at this time due to her lack of experience inside the house. Prissy pulls on the leash when being walked. She is frightened of new experiences and her forever home will have to understand this. They will have to take extra time with her so she will feel more comfortable when starting anything new.
Prissy’s foster mom feels that she will be very “prissy” once she is fully vetted and groomed. She really wants to be the light of someone’s eye. Is that someone you?
