For all of his nine years, Prince had never been away from his Pennsylvania owner. He joined his dad in the car daily as he checked on the rental properties he managed. When Prince’s owner suddenly fell ill and was hospitalized, his dying wish was to have Prince visit him one last time. The hospital complied and Prince jumped up on the bed and licked his owner’s face all over. The owner even requested that his children go to the vending machine so he could give Prince one last peanut butter cup. With his last wishes granted, the owner died that night. Now, this well-loved senior is looking for a new owner to cherish and, in turn, be doted on.
Prince was treated like royalty, happily spoiled by his former owner. He is a big boy, not fat, just full of pure love! His foster parents are having trouble getting him to eat since he had not eaten dog food before. This Springer had fresh burgers made for him every day by his owner and he ate with him at the table. Dessert came at bedtime. He had one peanut butter cup before turning in for the night. These favorite candies were kept in the fridge which explains why Prince keeps barking at the refrigerator in his foster home. His foster mom is sure Prince thinks eating dog food on the floor out of a bowl with no peanut butter cup is crazy! He looks at her as if to say: “You have to be kidding!” Despite his previous diet, his teeth are amazing! Don’t worry. Once Prince gets hungry, he will give his quality kibble a try.
100% a man’s dog, Prince goes out and sits at his foster dad’s truck and just cries. He is really grieving his owner’s passing now but he will learn that he can love his new family as well. Prince has not really associated with the four resident Springers yet.
Housetrained, Prince sits and barks one loud, VERY LOUD bark to let his foster family know he needs to go outside. He LOVES to be outside! He seems to listen extremely well and will roll over on command for tummy rubs! He does cry when left alone in any room although he will stop after some coaxing. The former owner’s children said Prince had never been left alone. To get close to his people, he has no trouble scaling the 36” gates at all of the bedroom doors in his foster home; he just flies over them! His foster parents have seen nothing, not one thing wrong with this senior pup– unless you count his eating habits!
Sweet Prince will make a GREAT companion and has so much love to give! Got any peanut butter cups to share?
