When his owner lost his job and could no longer afford to feed his dogs, Prince and another dog were relinquished to a West Virginia shelter when he was just seven months old. Overcrowded conditions at the shelter lead staff members to contact MAESSR for assistance in placing Prince.
This sweet boy epitomizes the Springer puppy – full of spunk, energy, and puppy playfulness. He immediately became part of the family in his foster home, following the lead of the resident dogs and respecting their space while providing them with a constant source of fun and play. He is intrigued with the resident cats but means no harm when he chases them around the house. He loves playing with rope bones and chasing balls.
Prince has no trouble riding in a vehicle especially if there is an opportunity to curl up with someone for some quiet time. He is incredibly affectionate and loves the attention of people – sometimes whining if he can’t get to you. He has been known to chew on socks, scraps of wood, and any miscellaneous items he may find, so a kennel or confined space is best for him when his foster family goes out. He is housebroken and has no problem letting you know when needs to go outside. He loves to sneak up on the bed when you are sleeping and on the sofa when you aren’t looking but he means no harm – just trying to stay close to the people he loves.
Prince is a charming and good natured puppy. He will thrive in an active home and has an abundance of love and affection to give.
