Update 9/24/03:
Pepper has found a wonderful home!
Original:
Pepper came into rescue with Toby. After their owners decided they no longer wanted Toby, they notified MAESSR that they did not want to take Pepper with them when they moved to their new home. So, both Toby and Pepper are with us in rescue.
Pepper is petite but taller than she looks when she stands on tiptoes to give you kisses. She is smart and eager to learn and please. She pushes Toby around but knows when to stop to avoid an argument. The two can be a bit rowdy at times. Pepper just wants to be included in whatever is going on and be the center of attention.
Pepper walks well on the leash after the initial excitement wears off. She greets adults, children and other dogs with similar enthusiasm. However, small children can be a bit overwhelmed if she jumps up on them. Pepper will also give surprise kisses to just about everyone, so be prepared. She could be taught not to do this if someone would spend the time and work with her. She listens and responds well to verbal commands. Obedience class will enhance the appeal of this very smart little girl.
Pepper likes to play fetch with the tennis ball. Chewing on her bone is another favorite thing to do. So far, all chewing has been confined to toys that are hers. Pepper is also crate-trained and will “kennel up” on command. There is no counter surfing or begging at the table. Her social skills are good with no aggressive behavior.
Pepper is a good girl looking for a good home. If you want to have fun and get lots of love and attention in return, Pepper is the one for you.
