Original: Paco was found wandering in Lebanon County, PA where he was picked up by animal control workers and brought to the shelter. Then, MAESSR stepped in to foster him and help him begin a new life.
Paco was obviously someone’s pet as he knows a few basic commands and has wonderful house manners. This housetrained boy is also crate trained, but his foster family has found almost no need to crate him since he is so well behaved. He sleeps in his foster parents’ bedroom along with the two resident Springers. Paco settles right down on a comfy blanket which he curls into a ball as a pillow.
Paco is a typical Springer in that he absolutely loves to play fetch with just about any object– ball, bone, rope toy or even a shoe! His favorite is, of course, the tennis ball and he will bring it right back to his human playmate for another throw. He does love to play tug, though, and will sometimes not release the ball right away so he can get in a game of tug as well.
At the vet’s office, Paco’s test results came up positive for Lyme disease although he showed no signs or symptoms of the disease. As a precaution, it was decided to treat him anyway. The shelter staff had commented that he had been favoring his right front paw, but the current vet did not see any limping or tenderness in the paw. This may have been the only sign of the Lyme disease. Upon completion of his Lyme treatment, Paco will be neutered.
Paco is a very lovable springer and will curl up on his foster dad’s lap to get some private attention and a belly rub. He is not destructive at all, but he does like to greet visitors with something in his mouth and anything laying around is fair game when mom and dad come home from work! He is always game for a ride in the car. A great passenger, Paco settles down immediately and does not bark at anything out the window at all.
Doesn’t Paco sound like the perfect dog for you?
