Original: “Oreo gets along with other dogs, but he really wants to be with his people all of the time.”
Oreo and his biological brother, Rascal, found themselves in need of a new home when their owner in West Virginia died. These two boys have never been separated. After a close evaluation, their foster mom feels that the brothers are not particularly bonded. She believes they would both do better individually if they lived in separate homes.
During his vet exam Oreo was found to be Lyme positive and is receiving treatment. Some dental calculus was found over a molar and premolar. He was a sweet boy for his visit and was very good for his grooming.
A well-behaved boy, Oreo is housetrained. He has been to obedience class and knows simple commands. Although Oreo is crate trained, he much prefers being with his people. He has been trustworthy in his foster home when allowed to roam free. He will get on furniture but he has never attempted to counter-surf or get into the trash. Oreo gets along with other dogs, but he really wants to be with his people all of the time. He loves children and babies.
For fun, Oreo likes to play with balls, water bottles, and squeaky toys. He loves the water and enjoys getting groomed. Oreo walks okay on a leash but he really hasn’t had much practice. He was always off leash in his previous home. With guidance from his new family, he will undoubtedly polish his leash skills. When traveling Oreo has a tendency to get carsick, but giving him Dramamine helps.
Oreo is evidence that Springer is a state of mind. This sweet boy just loves people and wants to be with them. His dream home would be a family with children that has lots of time to spend with him. He promises to be a devoted member of his new family.
