Original: Oliver was originally adopted from Long Island Rescue; however, his current family has moved and is unable to take him with them.
Oliver is doing great with all his Springer foster brothers and sisters. This easy-going guy really does not bother with them. Although it was reported that he has separation anxiety and does not like the crate, his foster family has seen none of these issues. However, with five other Springers in the house, he really is never really alone. Oliver likes to sleep and will go off to a quiet spot in the house to settle in for his nap. His foster mom believes he has some hearing loss, since calling loudly does not bring him down from upstairs. Instead, she must go find him to get him to go outside. Oliver loves to sleep on the bed but has to be reminded that his bed is on the floor.
Oliver walks well on the leash and will “sit” and “shake” upon command. He is well-mannered and does not jump up on people or beg for food. He does bark for his treat when he comes in from outside, but only because he is impatient waiting his turn for a cookie. He does not counter surf and he loves to go for car rides. When he was groomed, Oliver was great standing and getting his hair cut.
Oliver especially takes to men and wants to stick with them. Also, he would enjoy nothing more than to snuggle up with a loving child. Oliver is an easy dog who would make someone a wonderful, easy second dog. If you are interested in expanding your family, Oliver is the dog for you!
