Play, play, play – this is the only thing that Nugget lives to do. This beautiful boy was a stray that we rescued from a shelter in NJ. He is approximately 1.5 years old and is all puppy He is housebroken (although he may mark at first), knows basic commands, and easily tolerates being crated. At 40 pounds, he’s a bit thin, but we attribute this to his very high energy level. He appears to be a very healthy, happy dog.
Nugget is not for the inexperienced Springer owner. He has a ton of energy and will require a great deal of exercise. He will play all day long if you let him, and especially loves to fetch tennis balls. With the proper training and a little patience, Nugget will be a superb family companion. He would also make a very good hunting dog. We would not recommend him to a family with small children, as he is easily excited and may knock them over in his quest to chase down his favorite toys! Nugget gets along wonderfully with other dogs, but we’re not sure about cats.
Nugget has a fantastic temperament. He will let you take toys from his mouth, take away his food, and touch him anywhere without a hint of aggression. He is not shy or fearful in any way. He likes to show his submissive side by rolling over on his back and asking for belly rubs. Nugget is a good boy who is eager to please and will listen intently.
Oh, did we mention that he likes to play?
