Original: “A real sweetie, Nicky just wants to curl up on his human’s lap to receive lots of lovin’.”
When a kennel in Maryland closed, MAESSR stepped in to help place the dogs in forever homes, so Nicky is now a MAESSR boy.
Since his arrival in his foster home, a few health issues are being addressed successfully. Nicky’s ear infections are now cleared and he has just one round of treatment remaining to rid him of intestinal worms. He was found to have a rather severe UTI/prostate infection which is responding to treatment. This caused some accidents in the house, but Nicky’s housetraining is progressing nicely as the infections clear up.
While Nicky does not respond to any commands, he is crate trained and has not tried to counter-surf in his foster home. His foster mom suspects that he might be inclined to take a peek at something tempting up there, however. He is a Springer, after all, who loves his food and treats!
A real sweetie, Nicky just wants to curl up on his human’s lap to receive lots of lovin’. He just loves people and was very good for the groomer. Due to the fact that Nicky was intact for 7 years, his attitude towards male dogs is not always as polite as it is with females. He most likely would be best suited for a family with a female canine, or, he would do well as an only dog. Due to big changes in his life, Nicky is receiving a supplement to reduce some anxiety. Surely a regular routine and a loving forever family should be a real tonic for him!
Nicky has begun a new chapter in his life. He would love to have the happy ending that every dog deserves.
