Original: Nash is a young bundle of energy that was found as stray in PA. He arrived at his MAESSR foster home house trained and has not had any accidents. Nash also brought some knowledge of basic commands along with him. He knows sit, down, and come. His foster family is working with him on not pulling on the leash when walking.
The resident senior dog has had to put Nash in his place a couple of times since she is long past wanting to romp and wrestle. When the leash or the food bowls come out, Nash gets very excited! When the resident cat would come out, he would also get excited. So, Nash’s foster parents are teaching him that the resident cat is not for chasing! When he met a relative’s cat, the two just sat on the floor next to each other. So, how Nash is with cats depends upon the cat! If things aren’t exciting enough around home, Nash would love to go on a car ride! He does quite well in the car, too.
Nash was great for his bath and brush out. He has a nice short field coat, so is very low maintenance and is easy to groom. He was also very good at the vet. Poor Nash had fleas when he first arrived in his foster home, but that problem has been taken care of.
This good-natured young Springer would love to join your family provided you like to get outside to play. He’ll gladly join you!
Update 12/19/07: Nash continues to improve on all fronts in his foster home. He is doing much better with the resident cat and with his crating. There have been added temptations, though, with the cold weather and holiday prep. His silly humans must remember now to put the gloves up as Nash will snack on them any chance he gets. With seasoned skill in the kitchen, the resident senior dog has been showing how to clean up after a messy baker and Nash is proving a quick study!!
True to his breed, Nash wants to be with his people all the time, and the closer the better. He is always up for a belly rub. He still gets very excited when his people come home, but he is improving his welcome home manners all the time. He’s fun to watch growing up and will make a wonderful addition to a Springer-loving family in the new year.
