Murphy is a sweet, loving, 10 month old boy pulled from a shelter in South Carolina. At only 22 pounds and with an undeveloped eye, this boy was in desperate need of medical attention and MAESSR has seen to it that he has received everything he needed.
Through his routine vet procedures and surgery to remove the undeveloped eye, Murphy has been a trooper and has won the hearts of everyone who has come in contact with him. He is having some problems recovering from his eye surgery and, through it all, he remains cooperative with everyone who has been involved with his treatments. He is also gaining weight which pleases his foster mom and his vet.
Murphy is doing well with his housetraining and his house manners are amazing considering his young age. He gets along well with other dogs, is curious about cats but keeps his distance, loves everyone he meets including young children, and rides well in the car. He doesn’t know a lot of commands, but is learning, comes when called and can be trusted off leash. Due to the bad weather there hasn’t been much leash walking with this sweet guy; however, he does respect the leash and does well going short distances. Since he is still a pup, Murphy’s forever family will have to take him to obedience training classes as MAESSR requires for adoptions of dogs a year old or younger.
This little guy is just beginning to find the joy in toys, but he does love his bones and he loves to cuddle every chance he gets. Murphy knows he has won the lottery and has no problem showing his appreciation and love.
Look for more on Murphy as he heals and get ready to start his new life.
