Murphy is another lucky stray who found his way to MAESSR via a North Carolina shelter. He is a typical two year old, although the vet thinks he may actually be a little younger, and seems to know all about living with a family. Murph is completely housetrained, doesn’t counter-surf, trash dive, or jump on people, and is very quiet in the house. He has shown no anxiety when left alone and has complete run of the house without issue. Murphy also thinks he is a lap dog and will try to get on the sofa to cuddle with his foster mom!
He loves toys and is always up for a game of fetch. If no one is available to play, he will amuse himself with a ball until nap time. Although he will pick up inappropriate things on occasion, he will give them up willingly and has a complete understanding of no. These few indiscretions can be easily overlooked; after all, Murphy is still a puppy and is still learning.
When the dogs in his foster home are fed, Murphy is a good boy and even when he finishes first he doesn’t bother the other pups while they are eating. He will sit for a treat and come when called, but doesn’t appear to know any other commands at this point.
Murphy is very good on the leash, staying right with his foster mom without pulling, even when he sees something of interest. Car rides are great, although he is still a little hesitant about jumping into the car. Once he is in, Murphy is always happy to go and sits quietly in the back seat.
This is a happy, happy boy, always willing to please and grateful for his new start in life. A typical Velcro Springer, Murphy needs to be in the same room with his people. Wouldn’t you like to share your home with this cute pup?
