Moxy Della was an owner-relinquishment from a shelter in Lancaster, PA. Her family said they didn’t have time for her. She had been purchased locally and her family included 3 children, ages 4 and under, and cats. She is a beautiful deep liver and white, with most of her body just freckled and beautiful symmetrical head markings. Unfortunately, Moxy is one scared little girl. She is afraid of men, loud noises, and sudden movements. She is very lean, mainly due to her high level of anxiety.
Now for the good news…….She is a very sweet girl and gives little kisses. As scared as she is, Moxy will let her foster mom do anything to her. Even the vet commented that he had never seen a dog so scared who wouldn’t fear-bite. After just five days with her foster family, she is coming up to her foster father and she will approach strangers without submissively peeing. Strangers can’t approach her initially right now, but she is making great strides. This girl needs to build confidence and trust, and, an obedience class with her adopting family would be a great way to work on this.
Moxy is getting along great with her foster brothers, ranging in age from 3 to 12 years old, and loves the family’s six year old son. She is housebroken and will let one know when she needs to go out. She’s quick to learn and has already figured out the doggy door at her foster home. Her foster family finds she does not like to be crated. When she is first crated, she will raise a ruckus, so they have been trying Moxy outside the crate when they leave home. She has done well although she will scratch at the door when first alone.
Moxy will be one year old soon and would love to spend her 1st birthday in her forever home. Having someone who will love her and share their time with her would be the perfect present for Moxy. Well, she would also like a nice dog bed of her own, a few treats, perhaps a toy, and, of course, lots of petting. In return, she will share her little kisses and grow into a wonderful companion for some lucky family.
