Original: “Moses will need a forever home with an abundance of patience to continue his exposure to new things at a slow, comfortable pace and expand his acceptance of longer grooming sessions!”
Moses was removed from a hoarding situation in New Jersey by the local shelter authorities. The shelter staff worked to help him acclimate to living in a home. He was then released to MAESSR to help find him a family with Springer experience.
This young Springer does not like to be crated. He gets anxious and tries to get out. He had accidents in the house the first two days he was in his foster home. However, he quickly learned the doggy door and has not had an accident since. Obviously, Moses is a fast learner!
Because his early years were spent in a hoarding situation, Moses is not used to many things that the average Springer takes for granted like being groomed.
He likes to be brushed for short intervals and his foster mom is working with him to acclimate him to scissors and longer brushing.
One thing that was not harmed by the hoarder is his love of people and desire for human attention. Extremely cuddly and loving, Moses loves to be with his people. This silly boy loves to steal his foster mom’s flip-flops! He does not chew them but just takes them to another location.
Moses rides well in the car and walks well on a leash. He would love the opportunity to get more practice on leashed walks.
Due to his anxiety about new things and people, Moses was started on a low dose of anti-anxiety medication. His new home will be required to keep him on this medication for a minimum of six months after adoption.
Moses has done very well in his foster home where there are multiple dogs of differing sizes. They are helping to teach him how to be a dog and he is a good learner.
Moses will need a forever home with an abundance of patience to continue his exposure to new things at a slow, comfortable pace and expand his acceptance of longer grooming sessions!
This pint-sized sweetie will make a fantastic companion for the right home. Moses is willing to learn and wants approval. He will reward you for all your efforts with lots of kisses, continual love, and loyalty!
