Original: “If Mom does not see her, she just calls “Molly,” and her new house guest is by her side.”
Molly is a field Springer spaniel who was relinquished because her South Carolina owners could no longer care for her and she did not get along with the other dogs in the house.
After the first day of arrival Molly was able to stay on the foster home property off lead. She comes when her name is called. Molly goes outside when her person does and sleeps in the house when inside. If her foster mom is busy outside she knows her limits and will wander the property. If Mom does not see her, she just calls “Molly,” and her new house guest is by her side.
And Molly plays with the cows. As they get nose to nose, she will decide to run around as if being chased and then come back to check on the cow. Molly leaves the feral neighbor cats alone when she and foster mom visit. She knows the neighboring family has dogs but will not leave the property to go near them.
Molly gets along with all visitors and lets the 18 month old grandchild hand feed her from her food bowl on the floor. Her food dish in the kitchen is always full, and she eats when hungry
Molly is housetrained. If she needs to go out she stands by the door. She does her business first thing in the morning and poops twice. She will go again in the afternoon. She and her foster mom walk down the driveway and Molly sniffs and does her thing. She slept in a crate on the transport but has the run of the house.
This beautiful tri-colored girl will snuggle with her mom when Mom sits on the furniture or rests in bed. Otherwise Molly does not get on the furniture and does not sleep in foster mom’s bed. She has her own bed on the floor. She does jump on the couch to see out the front window.
Molly has no bad habits although she did eat a sandwich from the table when it had been there awhile. She carries around stuffed animals and will chew on chew bones. She will pull on a leash.
She will run up to cars who enter “her” driveway and bark at strangers. If foster mom sees someone coming, she calls Molly and that good girl sits next to her until the guests get out of the car.
Molly just began playing with toys and is low energy in the house. She does like to run around in the fields and entertain herself. She likes riding in the car. She does not guard any resources.
Molly is sweet and would do well being the only dog in a family. She can be left all day in the house by herself without a problem. Is sweet Molly, who is waiting for the cows to jump over the moon, the girl for you?
