Original: “Molly’s a submissive pup in play with the resident dogs and knows when to leave the grumpy canine senior citizen alone.”
After Molly’s human parents in Pennsylvania divorced and Molly had some “accidents” in the custodial parent’s apartment, MAESSR was asked to help. Molly moved into a foster home and has been a perfect guest.
Molly signals her need to go outside by standing at the door and has only had one “submissive” accident in her new home. Although she is crate trained and her foster folks sometimes crate her while cooking or working, this lovely lady is mostly free to roam the house. She sleeps on a dog bed next to a crated puppy.
Although Molly has not had any formal training, she does know “sit.” Her leash manners are a work in progress as she pulls when excited; however, off leash, she is fairly trustworthy, wanting mostly to be by her people—good girl, Molly! While she reportedly has a counter-surfing background, this bright young lady is learning to reconsider when she hears a “leave it” combined with a call for some lovin’. On the positive side, her strong food motivation can be a tool in future training.
Molly’s a submissive pup in play with the resident dogs and knows when to leave the grumpy canine senior citizen alone. Although she was initially shy, she now plays “steal and run” with toys and does a polite game of keep away with her puppy foster brother. Stuffed toys are her favorites, but she will chase a ball or stick. Since she enjoys wading into streams and puppy pools for a drink, summer may find her to be a Springer swimmer.
This good girl handled her vet visit with a doggy grin, enjoys having her hair brushed and doesn’t mind ear cleanings.
A medium energy gal, Molly would be happy to flop on a rug near you, take a long walk outside or enjoy a romping chase session in the yard. Wouldn’t you love to be greeted each morning with Molly’s waggily stub of a tail and spend some time tossing balls to help MAESSR’s very special girl build up her trust in people? If you already have a dog or two to keep her company, she’d be doubly pleased!
