During her afternoon nap on September 1, Molly passed away in her sleep. She had been with her foster family long enough to endear herself to them and she was enjoying the love and care that they lavished on her while she was awaiting a forever family. They will miss her special “woo woo” and her sweet face very much.
Updated 7/24/05:
Some treatment from the vet is helping Molly enjoy herself more each day. She had surgery this week to have some cysts removed. She had one removed from the top of her head, one from her paw, and one from her elbow. She is now feeling much better and has become more active. The infections she had in her ears are now cleared up and she is hearing much better too.
She LOVES to be outside “helping” her foster dad work in the yard. She is also doing better around children. Her foster mom still would not want to place her with small children, but she does not feel that Molly would harm any small child who visited. Molly has really blossomed into a wonderful companion in her foster home and is now ready to be adopted. She is a happy, engaging, and mature springer who could easily live with seniors or with a family whose children were a little older. She is so well mannered and comfortable with home life that she could slip easily onto that extra dog bed in the corner or the one beside a favorite chair. She would enjoy slipping out for a little yard work with her people and might even be able to bring in their newspapers. What more could one ask for from a new family member?!?!
Original:
Molly came into MAESSR’s care due to sad circumstances. She was living with a 4-year-old and 11-month-old twins. With her current hearing loss, Molly could not hear the young children approaching and they would startle her. She had started to growl at them and, though she was doing her best to stay away from them, it became clear that she was overwhelmed by the children. Her family made the extremely hard decision to find her another home before something bad happened. Molly was very much loved in her previous home and hopes to find the same love in her next home.
Her foster mom reports that Molly is the perfect house guest. She is housetrained and will “woo-woo” when it’s time to go out. She doesn’t get on furniture, nor does she chew or mess with anything she should not. She is crate trained and far too well-mannered to consider counter-surfing or trash-picking. Molly knows several basic commands, including sit, down, and shake and she will also go out to get the newspaper for her family!!!
Molly was unsure of being with other dogs when she first arrived at her foster home. With almost 2 weeks of getting acquainted, she has made a wonderful adjustment and now even interacts some with the other dogs. It’s people who Molly really lights up for though. She simply wants to be with her people all the time. Molly’s foster dad calls her “Molly Woo-Woo”, since she also woo-woos when she is happy which is most of the time.
Do you have room in your home for this sweet girl? She’ll woo-woo her way right into your heart and soul if given the chance.
