Misty’s owner suffered from MS and was taken away in an ambulance so Misty ended up in a shelter in Virginia Beach, VA. Lucky for Misty, MAESSR found her the first days of May and now she lives with her foster mom.
Misty is very healthy with a silky coat and completely up to date on all shots. She is “pleasingly plump” right now, but with the daily walks with “mom” and romping in the back yard with her new buddies(a yellow Lab and German Shorthair Pointer) she will be slimming down. Misty is also a bit hard of hearing so “mom” is teaching her her lessons using simple hand signals which she is quickly learning to recognize. Because of her hearing loss, Misty must walk on a leash when outside her home, but she loves to run in safe, fenced areas like her new backyard.
Misty is a very devoted and loving girl. She follows “mom” from room to room, just likes to keep her in sight, then settles wherever she is. She loves other doggy friends, very young and older children, and all adults too. She stays in a crate when “mom” leaves the house, and sleeps in it all night right beside “mom’s” bed. She likes to go on the furniture or bed but only does so when invited, and when she has to go out Misty signals by going to the door. Misty rarely barks or fusses and never begs.
Misty is such an easy girl to have around; she just wants to be with her human and please him/her, and doesn’t ask for a lot in return…a pat on the head , a bit of good food, an occasional walk, and to be close and safe.
Update 6/11/2003:
Misty found a wonderful home!
