When a box of three puppies was found at the stairs of a West Virginia church, these ten week old, abandoned babies were first taken to a shelter where the staff quickly contacted MAESSR to foster them and find wonderful homes for them. Now Missy, Molly, and Maggie are MAESSR girls!
These little bundles of puppy sweetness are doing well in foster care. They are not quite housetrained, but their foster mom is working on this with them. When she is out of the house, the trio happily piles into the crate together to sleep and play. Distinct personalities are surfacing to the delight of their foster mom.
Missy is the sensitive soul of the family. She is always on the bottom of the pile if there is a struggle and is sure to cry loudly at the inception of any and all infractions, big and small. This tattle tale loves attention from her foster mom and literally cuddles into her when picked up. The most affectionate of the three, Missy is a real shadow around the house. She is also a Houdini, learning to scale the baby gate in just a week! After experimenting with several failed techniques, Missy found the “run and jump” method brought her the greatest success at escape! Although occasionally naughty, Missy is also the love bug of the family.

Puppies require a lot of care, attention, and patience, and they do chew on things! The decision to get a puppy and raise it to be a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted dog is a serious commitment. To reinforce this commitment, MAESSR requires all adopters of dogs under 1 year old to enroll their puppy in an obedience class within 60 days of adoption.
