Original: “Getting loved on is Memphis’s favorite activity. He will let you love on him until you rub off all his hair!”
MAESSR was contacted by a Good Samaritan who had learned about a Springer in West Virginia that had been badly injured in a dog fight and needed to get to the vet for treatment. As always, MAESSR volunteers (and the Good Samaritan) did their utmost and quickly got this boy to the vet. Once there, the vet sedated him, cleaned his wounds, and began treating him with antibiotics. After a couple of days, Memphis was moved to a MAESSR foster home. When he went to the vet to be neutered, the medical staff decided to surgically close the gaping hole in his neck. Through all of this upheaval, Memphis has been an absolute doll.
Both housetrained and crate trained. Memphis has nice house manners. He has not tried to counter-surf in his foster home. At night he sleeps beside his foster parents’ bed or in the bed with them. When he meets new people or when he greets his foster family, Memphis does not jump up on them. Good boy!
Memphis does not appear to know any commands, but he is extremely well-behaved. He walks fairly well on the leash and rides very well in the car.
On spa day, Memphis was wonderful for the groomer. He gave her so many kisses that his foster mom was not sure if the groomer was going to let him come home!
Getting loved on is Memphis’s favorite activity. He will let you love on him until you rub off all his hair! Memphis is really a nice dog who will soon be ready for a loving family of his own.
