Maybelline’s family in Maryland experienced the stress that comes with a new baby and felt their young Springer deserved a new home. So, Maybelline came to MAESSRland and, now, is having a great time with her foster family‘s two resident dogs and a senior visiting Vizsla. She even represented MAESSR at a public event and showed a happy Springer smile to all who greeted her.
Housetrained except for one very excited moment, Maybelline is quiet indoors and, while crate trained, has shown herself to be trustworthy with free roam of the house. Her foster family has seen no incidences of the reported spay incontinence. Being a proper young lady, she does not chew inappropriately, counter-surf or jump on furniture. She is also respectful of even small indoor “fences.” At night, she sleeps on a dog bed next to the crated resident puppy.
Watching her figure as a beautiful Springer must, Maybelline eats when she is ready and does not resource guard her food. She even shares treats with the other doggie members of family. This lovely fashion-conscious female does enjoy her grooming and doesn’t mind having her ears and paws touched. Good girl!
Maybelline takes care of her business whether leashed or loose in the fenced back yard. And, while outside, she is always ready for a game of chase and helps guard the bird feeder from those pesky squirrels. She knows “sit,” “stay,” “out,” and “give paw,” but does need to practice walking on a leash. She will come when called; however, she is not quite trustworthy off leash.
Maybelline has had a good life and been well cared for and trained to this point. She will soon be ready for her next chapter. A home with older children might be wise as Maybelline’s exuberance may be too much for toddlers.
Any country music fans out there will remember the song, “…oh, Maybelline, why can’t you be true?” Unlike that naughty Maybelline, this girl will be true and loving to her forever family. Would you be interested in our new Maybelline, who, true to her possible namesake, would love to go for a car ride with you?
