Max came to his foster home by way of a Pennsylvania shelter. He underwent some trauma and was found two blocks from the shelter with a broken and dislocated right rear leg which had to be amputated.
This lovable guy is the sweetest boy that his foster parents have ever met. He gets along well with kids as young as two years old and is very gentle. Max also gets along with other dogs, but he isn’t allowed to play around too much yet because he still has staples in from his surgery. He also hasn’t shown much interest in playing with toys.
While much of Max’s history is unknown, it seems that he may have spent some time as an indoor pet. His house manners are excellent. He is housebroken and sits by the door when he needs to go out. He is also crate-trained and does not counter-surf or trash dive. He does enjoy relaxing on the couch, however! When his foster parents are out, Max is free to roam the entire house and is very well behaved.
Max loves to ride in the car. He knows how to sit and stay and also walks okay on a leash. At night, Max sleeps next to the couch on a blanket. For the most part, the loss of his leg hasn’t slowed Max down. He does slip occasionally and needs some help to get up stairs, so single story living might suit him best.
This cute boy craves attention and loves to cuddle. Do you have room in your heart for Max?
