Max was raised in a loving home by an owner who saw to it that he was well-socialized as a puppy, went to a basic obedience class, took long walks, went swimming, and played ball. Unfortunately for Max, his owner has taken a new job which will include travel and more work hours. His owner loves Max and knows that this change would be tough on him, so he has relinquished Max to MAESSR.
His foster family is finding Max to be a well-trained, very playful, and sweet boy. When he arrived at their home, he was crate trained, housebroken and responsive to many commands. He of course knows his name and will “sit,” “stay,” “wait,” and a new one on them, “hup.” The last command is one his previous owner taught Max for a “sit/stay.” Two other commands that Max also knows are “down” and “no.” These last two are coming in handy as his foster parents work to discourage his desire to check out what is on the kitchen counter. Well…no guy can be perfect!!
Max is a high-energy dog who has been used to being outside a good deal of the time. He’s an avid squirrel chaser and really needs a large fenced yard to run and play in. At day’s end, Max likes to cuddle with his people in front of the TV and share his puppy kisses. His foster family feels his only special need will be a continuing opportunity to run off his energy so that he can settle in the evenings and be his sweet, lovable self. Got a yard?!?
