Original: Major is a beautiful liver and white boy with lovely eyes and curly hair. This Virginia boy found himself in MAESSR’s care after his owner died and his owner’s wife decided to move into an apartment.
In his surrendering home, Major was a traveling man who enjoyed trips both around town and out of state, fine (people) food, and swimming. At sixty-five pounds, this traveling man is a bit overweight. He was great at the vet’s but needs to trim about fifteen pounds off his frame. He also received meds to clear up an ear infection. Otherwise, Major is in great condition for his age, and he bounds upstairs like a youngster. He reportedly loves to chase his ball, but at the moment, the life changes have him a bit sad and confused along with the change to a dog food only diet!
Major lived with small dogs in his former home and now he and the resident Springer are learning to get along. He will chase cats initially but leaves them alone after a few nos. Major has been great with his foster family’s twelve-year-old and seven-year-old children.
Major is totally housebroken and is fairly quiet in the house. He is obedience trained, but would really love to get on furniture or sleep on the bed. He will get off with a few grumbles and currently sleeps on his blanket on the floor next to the bed. He hasn’t used a leash in three years, so right now he pulls some on the leash but with time that will stop.
Major would love a new home where he would be allowed to ride along in the car, sit on the furniture, go swimming, and be active in his forever home’s everyday activities.
