UPDATE: March 5, 2004:
Major is no longer in pain. He is now at the Rainbow Bridge.
UPDATE: August 24, 2003:
Life keeps throwing curve balls to Major. After he recovered so nicely from his surgeries, Major battled a serious bladder infection. That’s been resolved and now it appears that Major is suffering from senile dementia. Medication can help this condition. However, having put nearly $1500 in to Major to date, MAESSR’s budget cannot absorb the monthly cost of medications. Will you help us help Major? He’s a wonderful, sweet boy who deserves the quality of life in retirement that he was denied in his youth. Please search your heart. Decide whether you can help with a one-time donation or as a monthly contributor. Thank you for whatever help you can give Major.
Original:
After long-term and severe neglect, Major was found wandering the streets, turned into a local pound and rescued by MAESSR members. Placed in a MAESSR foster home, Major has had major surgery for his major problems. (All puns intended!) Major has received surgery to address numerous tumors and to neuter him. Add on to that he is deaf and was malnourished when he was found. Despite that all, he’s a really loving old boy, accepting of whatever fate throws at him – and in his case it’s been a lot – and slowly improving day by day. He needs someone with a lot of time and patience who will teach him how to respond to hand signals, to teach him how to let them know he needs to go out, and someone who lives in a home without stairs. He’s a drooler (big time), and he learned to garbage surf for survival, so this old boy is smart enough to know how to work flip top garbage cans. He does not crate, but he is truly calm and gentle. If you have time, patience, and a desire to help an old boy until he crosses the Rainbow Bridge, maybe Major can find a home with you. He deserves a good finish to his life after overcoming so many odds.
Can Major live his golden years with you?
