Original: “Maisy loves attention but when she gets overwhelmed with it, her body goes stiff and one needs to stop.“
Maisy was relinquished to MAESSR because of her occasional negative behavior toward the children in her Virginia home. They would be petting her and she would suddenly growl and snap at them. This also happened with adults, but not as frequently. The family felt that Maisy might do better in a home without young children and so much activity.
Housetrained and crate trained, Maisy has wonderful house manners. She does like to get on furniture, though. At night she sleeps as close to her person as she can get. Maisy walks well on a leash and rides in the car wonderfully.
Maisy loves attention but when she gets overwhelmed with it, her body goes stiff and one needs to stop. She is currently on a probiotic supplement for anxiety which is helping her be much more comfortable.
Her foster mom has groomed her and Maisie was very good for the procedure. She is not a fan of having her ears handled so her foster parents are taking it slow.
Maisy’s vet visit revealed that she needed a dental which will happen in the next few weeks. There are also some indications of an autoimmune disease that are being checked out.
Maisy has a lot of potential. Please keep an eye on her for updates on her health and temperament.
