Original: Maggie is residing in Occoquan, VA. She is a 5 ½ year old, spayed, liver and white, and weighs 45 pounds. Maggie is being relinquished because her owner is moving back home and her mother is allergic to dogs. The owner contacted the breeder in Florida and she has too many dogs and will not take her back.
Maggie is in very good health and is regularly groomed. She is good with children of all ages. She currently lives with another dog and a cat. She previously lived with a bird. Maggie does not dig or chew. She will attempt to beg for food, but can be discouraged by saying, Maggie Out. Maggie is a bit food and bone aggressive.
Maggie has never been exposed to a crate. She can sit, give paw, speak, sits pretty, and will scratch at the door when she wants to come in. She will stay in her yard when let out. She is ok on a leash. Maggie goes to bed on her own around 9:30 or 10:00 pm. She crawls under the bed and will throw her paws up on the bed when she wants to go out in the morning.
Maggie swims like a seal and will go completely under water. She likes to play ball and will drop it for more play.
Maggie would love to have a home to call her own.
Update: 01/16/01
Maggie has obviously been well taken care of and is well-mannered. She is very playful and loves to go for walks. She would fit in well with a very active family. She plays rough, but is not aggressive, and her favorite game is tug-of-war. She is protective of her own toys but plays/shares well with our dogs’ toys. She is also food possessive, but only when she is hand-fed (treats, etc.) She is a dominant female and would probably do best in a home with no other dogs. Maggie loves playing with our 9-year-old and the children in the neighborhood and has no problems with our dogs (except with her own toys).
