Maggie Moo was rescued from a Tennessee shelter by a family that had other dogs and a young child. She did well the first year in the home, but then, although she was excellent with the youngster, started guarding food, toys and other “important to her” items from the other dogs. Fights began happening, and the mother was bitten on the ankle when she accidentally stepped into the middle of one of the dog fights. The bite was not intended for the mom, but the family felt their young daughter might not be safe with Maggie Moo in the home. The difficult decision was made to rehome her where she could be an only dog.
Maggie Moo is currently in a foster home with multiple other dogs. She gets along with the others about 90% of the time, and, while no one has been injured in some minor scuffles, they are very annoying to her fosters. Her foster mom agrees that this Springer should be an only dog.
Miss MM in no way acts as if she is 8 1/2 years old. In spite of significant hip dysplasia and disc degeneration, she runs, jumps and plays like a 3 year old.
This beautiful almost senior is housetrained and, typical Springer, is an expert counter-surfer. But, good girl Maggie does get down when she is told to do so. She follows the same pattern when out walking; although she initially pulls on her leash, she settles down when she realizes what is expected. Could be that since she does ride well in the car, she’d prefer that mode of transportation!!
The new girl in town is very sweet and just loves attention. Maggie Moo will be a wonderful addition to a family who would be happy with an only dog and who realize that her age is just a number. She would love to spend summer and the rest of her life playing and going for car rides with her very own furever people.
