Update 12/27/2015: “Spoiled she was and a joy to her foster family throughout her days with them. “
Spoiled she was and a joy to her foster family throughout her days with them. When at last overcome by her illness, she was released to the Bridge. Good speed, Miss Maggie May. Your time as a MAESSR girl was way too short……..
Original: “Maggie May is everything a good Springer girl should be…having excellent house manners with just a touch of counter-surfing, a perpetual smile on her face, and a total enjoyment of life.”
This adorable older girl was turned in to a Pennsylvania shelter when her family was moving. Poor Maggie May was extremely stressed in the shelter. The shelter staff reached out to MAESSR because they had previously worked with our rescue…and Maggie May became a MAESSR girl. That was her lucky day!!!
Maggie May made the long trip to her foster home with dignity, just happy to be out of the scary place. She walked into her foster home and immediately won everyone’s heart. She is so sweet and friendly one can’t help but love her.
The first order of business was a needed trip to the vet and a good grooming. The shelter had checked Maggie May over and concluded that she desperately needed dental care. They also believed one of the lumps on a rear leg was a mast cell tumor. She received a good checkup from MAESSR’s vet and was groomed. She came home looking so beautiful! A dental appointment had been scheduled for a later visit, but then the results of her blood work came back with a grim diagnosis: Maggie May has acute lymphoblastic leukemia. What sad news for such a wonderful girl. Though somewhat bitter sweet to become a “permanent foster,” she will remain with her current foster family so that she may live out the rest of her life being spoiled rotten, as she deserves.
Maggie May is everything a good Springer girl should be…having excellent house manners with just a touch of counter-surfing, a perpetual smile on her face, and a total enjoyment of life. Please keep this baby girl in your thoughts.
