Maggie is a really nice dog. She was clipped and is not matted. Her hair is short and her ears are graying. Maggie traveled well in the car on her transport to foster care. She is very affectionate.
Maggie has a severe ear infection which we are treating. It should clear up easily. She was well behaved at the vet. Her eyes are a little cloudy, but nothing horrible for her age. Her heart sounds good and she has many happy years to share with a new home.
Update:
Here’s more from her foster mom:
Maggie is doing fine. She is very sweet. She follows everyone all the time. My son had some friends over and she was very sweet with all of them. She always wants to be with you and will constantly beg for attention. Her ears seem much better and no longer smell. I have added the yogurt to her food (actually my boy’s too) and they just love it.
She comes when you call her and seems to listen very well. She knows how to sit, but that is all. She doesn’t know how to play. She won’t do anything with toys. She seems to like my older dog Barney but just kind of tolerates the younger one, Chips. He jumps on her, she lets him for a while and then she growls at him and he backs off.
She hasn’t seen any of the cats yet-but she is not afraid of the cows. She seemed a little uneasy with the thunder yesterday, but nothing major. Also, she is afraid of the vacuum cleaner. She doesn’t run away or panic, she just leaves the room.
All in all I think she is doing well. We are enjoying her. I think she will make someone a wonderful companion!
Maggie’s foster family kept her.
