Original: Luke was turned in to a shelter in North Carolina by his elderly owners because he was just too much for them to handle. They loved him and thought he was a great boy but with too much energy for them. They also noted that he would growl when you tried to take something from him. He has never snapped or anything, just a low growl.
This very nosy boy always wants to be in the middle of anything that is happening. It would be terrible if he missed out on something fun! He has a lot of energy and loves to play. As active as Luke is while playing outside, he also likes to cuddle and watch TV. MAESSR is going to make a condition of his adoption that he be taken to obedience classes. The structure, training, and bonding would do him a lot of good and also show him that he is not in charge. Luke is very smart and wants to learn so his foster mom thinks obedience training will be an enjoyable activity for everyone in his new family.
Right now, Luke does pull on a leash when being walked, but handles correction well. Riding is the car is no problem with him as he is a good passenger. He is housetrained and crate trained but really does not like the crate. At night and when his foster parents are at work, Luke hunkers down in his crate, nonetheless.
Luke’s foster mom thinks he is a great boy with a couple of bad habits. He has “growled” at her a couple of times but has not made any effort to do anything other than grumble at her. She is not afraid that he will go further; he just likes to voice his opinion.
This boy needs a loving family that will commit to obedience and life lessons for him. Do you and Luke seem like a good match?
