Lucky was dropped at the Vet’s office to be put to sleep because of food/toy aggression. He has no history of ever biting. Lucky was very lucky that day, as the vet tech returned from lunch 5 minutes before he was to meet his demise. She kept Lucky at the office for 5 days until MAESSR could come for him.
Since Lucky has been in foster care, he has shown NO signs of aggression. He has been completely temperament tested, allowing us to remove his bowl while eating three times in one sitting; his only reaction was looking at me with those big brown eyes, as if to say, “What’s up lady?” Lucky allowed me to remove a dishtowel from his mouth in exchange for a treat. He never growled. Lucky spent the day at doggie daycare and allowed the very experienced staff member (pit bull rescue) to put her hand in his bowl and feed him.
Lucky is a beautiful 47 pound, black and white tri-color bundle of puppylove. He is housetrained and crate trained. He will get on furniture and counter-surf, but will retreat with a big OFF. He sleeps on a bed in his crate with the door open, his front legs stretched across the threshold of the open door. Lucky is your typical teenage driver, all over the place, so best to secure him in the car.
Lucky has no training. He has learned sit and down. Lucky will pull on the leash like a sled dog. Lucky will benefit greatly from an obedience class, as he is smart and so eager to please.
Lucky gets along great with dogs of all sizes. It was reported from his overnight at daycare, he was very gentle with the smaller dogs and playful with the bigger ones. He gets along great with foster sister brother and completely ignores the senior cats.
Lucky lived with 3 children under the age of ten. Due to the difficult time he encountered with his former family, he should not be placed with children under the age of 12. Lucky needs a family that is willing to spend the time and energy teaching him the ropes of obedient behavior. In exchange he will be a wonderful, loving and faithful companion.
