Original: “Lucky fit into his foster home like he had always lived there.”
After his owner died, Lucky the Cocker Spaniel was taken to a Maryland shelter that MAESSR had contacted about a Springer. When the shelter staff asked if MAESSR could possibly help Lucky as well, it was decided to make an exception to the Springer rule and give him a chance. Lucky became an honorary MAESSR boy!
Lucky fit into his foster home like he had always lived there. He is housetrained and crate trained, but is rarely in a crate because he is so well-behaved. With lovely house manners, Lucky never counter-surfs or gets into the trash. At night he sleeps on his dog bed next to his foster parents’ bed.
Did someone say, “Car ride”? Lucky adores riding in the car and is a good passenger. He walks well
on a leash, too, and gets really excited when it is time to go for a walk. Although he was good for the groomer, he really does not like to have his feet handled…….as most Cockers don’t. Hey, no one is perfect.
Lucky will not be recommended for a household with children younger than 12, since he has been known to jump up and take a snack out of your hand (not very often, though). No one would want any young fingers to get accidentally scratched if he decided he wanted their snack.
Lucky likes to be doing whatever his people are doing. He will supervise while you work in the yard or he will sit on the sofa with you to watch TV. He’s just happy to be with you.
Why don’t you help Lucky have some real LUCK and invite him to come live with you?
