Pulled from a shelter in North Carolina after his owner no longer wanted him, MAESSR came to the rescue and brought Logane into its fold for a new beginning.
With the new name Logane (pronounced Logan) to mark the start of his new life, this handsome boy won the hearts of his foster family with his loving spirit. A social boy, he has no problems meeting people, other dogs, or even cats. When introduced to the resident dogs, he rubbed up against them to say hello and then he invited them to play. The resident outdoor cat took to him right away by rubbing up against him; all he did in response was sniff at her and let her continue to rub against him. Good boy!
Logane loves being with his foster parents and will lean into them and nudge them in hopes of getting some extra cuddles and possibly a butt scratch or two. His only contact with children so far has been at Petsmart where his wagged his tail when greeting children he met there. Since he is enthusiastic in his play, Logane may do best with older children who would not accidentally be knocked down.
This young Springer had received some training in the past as is apparent in the command he responds to come, sit, down, no, and go potty. Logane will pull on the leash because he loves to explore new scents and, at this point, he cannot be trusted off leash. A counter-surfer, Logane is told no often when he is trying to check out the kitchen countertops to see what his foster parents are cooking or eating. Logane has shown no interest in toys, but actively engages the resident poodle and Yorkie in play. In his playful persistence, he sometimes will get a bit too rough, but they will let him know when they have had enough. When meeting new people, Logane does jump up since he gets very excited. His foster parents are working with him on this behavior.
No crate time is needed for Logane as this trustworthy boy does not trash dive and is completely housetrained. At night he has been sleeping on a blanket on the floor, but when the evenings are cool, he snuggles up on the couch for more warmth and comfort. If it is time for running errands, Logane enjoys car rides, settling down when going for long trips but moving from window to window to take in the new sights on short rides. One of his car rides was to the vet where he was an excellent patient during his exam. Logane was excellent at the groomer and did not even fuss when his feet were handled. Once he was done and crated though, he did get stressed out pawing and barking at the crate.
A loving, active family to call his own is on the top of Logane’s list for Santa. He is all set to run and play with them and with a resident four-legged buddy, too. This lovely Springer boy has lots of love to share!
