Update 03/28/12:
With much sadness Lindsey has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Although she was only with her foster family for a few short months, she had learned that love would be hers until the end and her end came much too soon. Lindsey was a little queen and ruled the big dogs in her home like she was twice their size, when in reality she was only a third of their size! She was the first one to give kisses in the morning and the last one at night. Lindsey’s tiny frail body was that of a fighter and she was not one to give up. Unfortunately, it was her mind that failed. With nothing but love and respect, her foster mom held her in her arms and said “until we meet again”……
Godspeed Lindsey girl…………..
Original:
Lindsey came to be a MAESSR girl when her Maryland family of 13 years no longer had the time to spend with her that she so deserved and needed.
This sweet senior girl has had a bit of a difficult time adjusting to her new life away from the family that she had always known. Slowly, she is becoming a part of the pack with whom she is residing- several resident dogs, another foster dog, and two cats.
A typical senior, Lindsey has very good house manners. Since she is a tiny little girl weighing just 23 pounds, counter-surfing is not an issue nor is getting into the trash. She does not beg for food, but will gladly accept yours if you would like to share! The only furniture hopping she does is at bedtime when she gets up onto the bed to sleep with her foster mom.
Although Lindsey is a tiny springer, she will pull a bit on her leash because she is still very curious and needs to know what all of those “smells” are. Lindsey also likes to go for car rides and does best if she is permitted to be the co-pilot.
Lindsey recently went to the vet and was very cooperative during her exam. Everyone was amazed that she was 15 since she has no gray fur! The vet has put her on weekly medication for incontinence and this seems to be helping. Besides her vet visit, Lindsey also had a bath recently and seemed to enjoy the warm water and hair dryer.
Continue to watch for more on Lindsey’s progress in adjusting to her new canine companions and surroundings.
