Lily’s adopting family is finding her to be the friendly and laid-back dog that they enjoy having in their life.  She is especially friendly and gentle with children, but she really just loves everyone, including dogs and cats.  Running with other dogs is one of her favorite activities.

Lily is trained on a leash, yet even when off leash, she doesn’t run away.  She knows a few basic commands and is learning more in her new home.  She likes to sleep on furniture and in beds, and is enjoying the life of a truly pampered pet.  A few minor health issues, including some allergy, are part of what her family will keep an eye on for her.  What a lucky girl!!

Miss Lily came into MAESSR’s care when her selfless owner realized that she was away from home too much and felt it unfair for Lily to spend so much time alone.  Lily’s owner had rescued her when Lily was about 8 months old and apparently abandoned in northern California.  At that time, Lily was very thin and in desperate need of a family.  Her owner cared for her well.  Her only recent health issue has been the extraction of one tooth.  Her owner even gave her a “birthdate” of February 14, 2000.

Lily is a very pretty gal and loves the out of doors. She loves to swim and if near water, she will jump in. Hiking, camping, and squirrel chasing are also favorites.  She is submissive to other dogs and rolls over easily.  Lily lived with 3 cats in her former home and was good with them.  When it comes to people, Lily has never shown any aggressive behavior.  Though she has never lived with children, she gets excited when she meets them and they seem to trust her.  The only things which seem to upset this gentle dog are loud noises, such as thunder, gunfire, and fireworks.

Lily could fit into many families so easily.  Her most basic need is to be part of a family who can include her in their daily activities and relish her sweet, steady personality.
