Lil came to MAESSR when her West Virginia family realized that they were not able to provide enough time and attention for her.
A very sweet girl that loves to cuddle and be with her people, Lil just wants to please. She has wonderful house manners and does not counter-surf or chew inappropriately. Lil is crate-trained, but a crate is not necessary since she is so trustworthy. She is fine having free run of the house when her foster parents are at work. If you need to run an errand, Lil would be a good companion to take along since because she loves to ride in the car and is a perfect passenger. She also walks well on the leash and is a pleasure to have around. Lil loves to play with her toys and carries one around in her mouth.
Lil is good with children 10 years old and older; however, she hasn’t been around toddlers. Although Lil has never bitten or snapped at people, she has grumbled at family members when they try to move her off the couch. In her former home. Lil has lived peacefully with cats and has also been around horses.
When she came into foster care, Lil had a bad UTI. She was treated with one round of antibiotics, but that did not completely take care of the problem, so she is now being treated with a different antibiotic. Lil also has urinary incontinence, but is now receiving an inexpensive daily medication that is keeping this condition totally controlled.
Back in September 2011, Lil was allergy tested and was found to be allergic to several grains, chicken, turkey, and rabbit. The previous owners described her as very itchy and had her on an antihistamine. In her foster home she is eating Verus Chicken and Oatmeal food and has not itched at all. So, she has been taken off of the antihistamine.
Once her UTI totally clears up, Lil will be ready for her new forever home. Watch for more on this little gal.
