Leroy came into MAESSR’s care from a family in West Virginia who had gotten him from a friend. Unfortunately, the family lived on a busy road and, though an electric fence was in place, it did not keep Leroy from going through it. For his safety, the family chose to relinquish him.
Having settled into his foster home, Leroy is proving to be a fun boy that loves attention. He has been great in his foster home with the resident dogs. He likes to run and play outside but inside is a cuddly couch potato. He has a wonderful sweet Springer temperament and loves people of all ages. When his people take off in the car for errands, Leroy likes to ride along.
Leroy does not like to be crated but that should not be a problem because he has wonderful house manners. He does, however, have a few preferences– he likes to get on the furniture and loves to sleep on the sofa. He would really enjoy this comfort in his next home but, with a bit of consistent guidance, would likely concede as long as he could sleep at one’s feet. Leroy also pulls on his leash when walking; he may be inexperienced at this but is a smart boy and would enjoy a bit of training with his people.
With one of the great fieldy coats, Leroy does not require much maintenance. What he needs most is a safe home with people who will be sure he gets lots of love, attention and perhaps a bit of training. In return, Leroy can easily be one of the most attentive and loyal friends you’ll ever have!
