Original: “Leo enjoys playing and crunching an empty water bottle and LOVES to swim—ducks his head under water!”
Leo lived with his West Virginia family for almost four years after having been adopted from a relative with small children who said he was “too much” for them. In June 2020, when he started showing resistance to his inside crate, he was moved to and lived alone in an outdoor pen. He is now being rehomed because, when released from the pen, he chased and nipped at the family’s chickens.
Leo is a handsome, sweet boy who loves attention and is thriving with the care he is receiving in his foster home. He does not beg, but may counter-surf. He has not had any formal training, but does know “sit,” “shake,” “come,” and “stay.” He is used to being able to run free in a yard, so may need some training in leash walking. He does not dig or chew. He does show some separation anxiety by whining and barking for 10-15 minutes when his foster mom leaves him—no apartment dwelling (or chickens) for this love!!
Leo enjoys playing and crunching an empty water bottle and LOVES to swim—ducks his head under water! He reportedly rides well in the car and was well behaved during a grooming.
This young man is VERY active and should live with a family who can provide much recreation for him. He definitely would like to have a fenced yard so he can work off some of his energy. Leo craves attention and will be a welcome addition to a home with folks who can live up to the pace he sets!! Good outdoor weather is ahead for Leo and his new family!
