Leah’s owner had to move in with her daughter, son-in-law, and their two children after going through a divorce. This new home situation was the source of a high stress level that was causing Leah stomach irritation and behavior problems. Leah’s owner found it in Leah’s best interest to find a new home for her, so she was relinquished to MAESSR.
Leah is a very sweet and happy older girl. Though a small Springer, only weighing 41 pounds, Leah is also a very healthy girl who no one would ever guess to be 9 years old! She is full of life and love, and wants nothing more than to rest her head on you for some affection! She excitedly tells her foster parents how happy she is when they return home. When her foster parents are not home, Leah is given free run of the living room as she is fully housetrained. She just curls up on her bed and sleeps while they are gone. With excellent house manners, Leah does not chew on inappropriate object, get into the trash, or counter-surf. She is a very smart girl who knows lots of commands and even did agility in her younger years!
When around other dogs, Leah likes her space. She doesn’t particularly like it when dogs try to greet her or sniff her, but once she gets to know them, she enjoys their company. She would rather spend her time snuggled up with a cat than with another dog, if the truth be known.
Leah loves to please and wants nothing more than love and affection from her foster parents. She does not respond well to negative discipline, which is what landed her in foster care in the first place.
Leah would do best in a very calm home that has lots of love to give through her golden years. How about making this sweet senior your own!
