Lancelot is a beautiful liver and white, almost 8 year old male English Springer Spaniel looking for a new home. Lance is a big boy weighing in at 65 lbs. This boy is in excellent health and even had his teeth cleaned 2 years ago. He does have some fatty deposits but they have been tested by the vet and they are fine. Lance’s family is going through some job changes and they do not have enough time to take care of him properly.
Lance is used to traveling and lots of company. He is crate trained, however, he has had free run of the house since he was 1 year old. Lance does not do well with other dogs. He is a dominant male. Lance’s owner also feels he would do better in a home without small children. Lance had an adjustment period when his family’s daughter was in the crawling stage, but since she is walking they are the best of buddies.
There are some special treats that Lance does not want to give up when he has them in his possesion.
MAESSR volunteers went to meet Lance and did not seen any signs of aggression. In fact, they commented that this sweet boy loves to give kisses! Lance loves to be petted and brushed.
Like most Springers, Lance loves to run and play outside. He especially likes catching the bubbles that his family blows for their daughter. He even jumps in the air to catch them!
This sweet boy has not had formal training for hunting, but he use to go hunting with his dad for pheasant and other birds (well he used to before his job got so busy). Lance has a natural ability to flush birds but he doesn’t always retrieve. Lance also does very good with staying within his family’s eyesight when we they walk in the woods. Unfortunately it has probably been three years since Lance has seen the woods.
Lance always welcomes his family home with a wonderful ‘woo-woo’, asking how their day was. Is this sweet boy supposed to be the one welcoming you home?
