Lana came to MAESSR via a veterinary clinic in Virginia. Her owners had taken her to the clinic because a rubber band had been tied around one of her ears. It had cut off circulation in the ear flap, resulting in infection and dead skin. The veterinarian started trying to clear up the injury, but after a couple of days, the owners decided that Lana was costing too much money. They told the clinic staff to put her to sleep. When the vet refused, the owner relinquished Lana to the clinic. That was in mid-August.
Over the next 5 weeks, the veterinarian did a skin graft to Lana’s ear and the staff gave her tons of excellent care. The graft took and now one cannot tell much difference in her ears. When Lana’s ear was totally healed, the clinic relinquished her to MAESSR. What a wonderful vet clinic!!!
With her health restored, Lana is now a very happy and sweet little girl. She is 46 pounds of pure wiggle butt and loves to play with stuffed animals and toys. It was reported that Lana did not like to be around other dogs. However, she is currently living with 9 foster siblings and is thoroughly enjoying herself with absolutely no problems. She is housebroken, does get on furniture, does not counter-surf and loves to ride in the car. An obedience class would benefit her so that she can learn how a sweet girl should act.
Her foster mom declares that Lana is the fastest wiggle-butt in the Mid-Atlantic region!
