Original: Lady had been adopted out from a Virginia shelter five months ago and then was returned recently because she was growling when other people approached her owner too closely. The shelter staff contacted MAESSR in hopes of giving Lady another chance. She was sent to a very dog savvy foster home. Over the weeks that Lady was there, her negative behaviors did not dissipate, and serious health issues surfaced. Despite the best efforts of both the shelter and MAESSR, Lady’s temperament plus health issues proved she would not be suitable for adoption.
