Update 9/15/04:
Lady V has slowly learned house manners. She sticks by her foster mom off leash and comes when called. She sleeps on her dog bed. She is eager to give her love and please.
She will need a patient family who is committed to teaching her limits in a loving, supportive environment. She is timid and needs a kind person who will help her come out of her shell and blossom. With loving adoptive family, Lady V is a dog who will make a wonderful companion.
Original:
Lady was rescued from what we believe was a home puppy mill. Lady came into rescue with six other Springers. When she was picked up from the owner, her condition was unbelievable. She had several extra pounds of very large mattes all over her body. She smelled horrendous and her coat appeared mostly brown due to years of built up dirt in unclean conditions. She stands 22 inches at her shoulder, weighing approximately 42 pounds. She is currently taking antibiotics for Lymes disease and a urinary track infection. She has minor skin irritations and ear infections in both ears.
Lady is house trained. She goes in the crate but would much rather be with her people. Lady arrived to foster care in season. She has been kept separated from the other dogs in the house however she has been in the yard with the girl dogs and is slowly getting used to them and them to her. She sleeps on a dog bed in a gated area away from the male foster in the home. She does not jump up on people and approaches new people slowly. She was wonderful at the vet and loved all the attention.
Lady knows sit and come and was well behaved at her foster mom’s office. She does not pull on the leash but does weave back in forth in front of you. Her foster mom will work on leash walking with her.
She settles down when put behind the gate and only whines a little, more to tell you she wants to stay by your side.
Lady played with a toy today and rode well in the car. She did sing a little on the way to the office, but settled down on her trip to the vet.
Lady startles easily to new sounds. She needs to learn about everyday home life and the sounds that go with it. She loves to be petted, loved and rubbed. Can you open your heart and give this girl the love and attention she needs and wants?
