Original: “When there are children around, Lady does everything in her power to get near them. She is very gentle with them while they are petting her and loving on her.”
Lady was found as a stray and ended up in a Pennsylvania shelter. When they tested her with other dogs, she would bark and bark at them, so they felt she should be an only dog. The shelter agreed to allow MAESSR to take this petite sweetie and find her a home.
One of our foster homes that was close to the shelter pulled Lady and brought her home. Lady immediately started barking at the other dogs in the home and stressing everyone out. The volunteer asked to move her to another foster home since she worked from home and found it almost impossible to get any work done with a dog barking at the resident dogs.
So, Lady moved to a foster home that had even more dogs. The first day there she barked a lot. She was in no way aggressive; she was just scared of the other dogs. Her foster mom felt that she probably had never been around other dogs. So, Lady was started on a mild supplement to help lower her anxiety.
The second day in her foster home, Lady barked very little and she started playing with a couple of the other young Springers in the home. The third day in her foster home, she started getting along with everyone! Now she plays constantly with the other dogs basically acting like she had always lived there. Her foster mom says she is one sweet little baby!
Both housetrained and crate trained, Lady has excellent house manners. Outdoors, she walks very well on the leash and rides well in the car. This playful sweetie especially enjoys playing fetch with a tennis ball. She will let you throw it for her for hours!
When there are children around, Lady does everything in her power to get near them. She is very gentle with them while they are petting her and loving on her. Good girl!
Since she was very matted when she came into rescue, Lady was shaved completely down and LOVED it. She was also very well-behaved at the vet.
Someone is going to be VERY lucky to get this sweet girl!
