Original: “Her trip to the vet illustrated Lady’s natural sweet behavior: a wagging tail greeting everybody.”
Changing circumstances in her owner’s life left Lady alone more and more. Knowing that his senior Springer deserved more attention, her Pennsylvania owner relinquished her to MAESSR, knowing she would find a wonderful new family to share her golden years.
Lady is a lovely girl with equally nice house manners. She doesn’t counter-surf, bother the trash, or chew anything other than food. Totally housetrained and reliable, Lady goes to the door when she wants to go out and has not had any accidents inside. She also enjoys her crate where she spends time when her foster family goes out running errands. When the family is home, Lady has free run of the house. At night she sleeps on the couch or on her dog bed in the master bedroom.
Her trip to the vet illustrated Lady’s natural sweet behavior: a wagging tail greeting everybody. Lady had no problem during the exam. The vet confirmed that she had a UTI and she is currently finishing treatment for this. Lady has lack of strength in both rear legs due to arthritis. Anti-inflammatory meds give Lady some relief from this condition. She must be placed in a home with a limited number of steps.
Lady lives with three other MAESSR Springers that her foster family has adopted over the years. The pack gets along well with its newest member and the greatest discord has been mutual grumbling if anyone gets too close to another’s food. Sharing toys isn’t a problem for Lady since she has not shown any interest in them.
This sweet senior has attached herself to her foster dad and is his shadow. Very laid back and calm, Lady sleeps a good part of the time but likes to go on short walks. She walks well on a leash. Also, she likes riding in the car and either naps in the back seat or looks out the window. Lady is a happy girl and just wants to be near her person for ear scratches.
If you want a Springer who is a real pleasure—a low maintenance, laid back dog–Lady may be the senior for you.
