Lacey has been adopted!
Update 10/6/03:
Lacey is done with her meds and shows no sign of Lyme disease. Lacey is a very good girl. She listens extremely well to all commands given to her. She has picked her favorite foster brother and will play for hours with him. Because she is so small and her foster brother is quite the big old marshmallow, she always has the upper hand but he doesn’t seem to mind most of the time. Lacey did go into heat 5 days before she was scheduled to be spayed so Lacey will be on hold until at least the end of November. Lacey will have to be in mid-cycle to be spayed. Lacey is a very loving girl and she will be worth the wait.
Original:
Lacey is a very sweet loving Springer. She is petite and gentle. Lacey has tons of energy and loves to play fetch. So far we have discovered no bad habits. She does not counter surf or beg for food while you are eating. Lacey is house trained and also crate-trained. Lacey gets along well with the two resident male ESSs and is very friendly to all that visit her. She is a little shy but just a little. Lacey rides well in a car and is good on and off leash. Lacey was kept in a dog run and lived outside with her kennel mate Cagney for about a year. Lacey has very quickly warmed up to the idea of having a place to call home. Lacey is a snuggle bunny and will curl up with you to watch TV or read a book. Lacey enjoys being outside running and barking at nothing. It seems she is having fun just running to the edge of the fence barking, then running back. It is like she is finding new freedom and very interested in all the different sights and smells of her new neighborhood. Lacey knows how to sit, stay and will offer you a shake. Lacey will jump up but when told “down” she listens very well. Lacey has had some training and it shows. Lacey’s favorite thing is having a belly rub. She will roll over and just beg you to “rub my belly, please.” Lacey loves to give doggie kisses, and she will wiggle her way into your heart.
Lacey had her first vet visit, and it was determined that Lacey is Lyme Positive. Lacey does not have full blown Lyme Disease. Lacey was bitten by a tick that was infected with the Lyme Disease virus, and it has shown up in her blood work. She is on meds for the next two weeks and will be re-tested to make sure the meds worked. She is scheduled to be spayed on September 23rd so after some R & R she will be ready to give that special someone some very special Springer love.
Do you have room in your heart to take this gentle little lady in and give her a forever home? You won’t be disappointed.
