Original: “Koko just wants to please people and tries very hard when she is asked to do something new.”
Koko and her mom Loulou had lived with their Virginia owner since they were pups. The owner was moving to a place that did not allow dogs and turned to MAESSR for help. After Loulou had her pups, she and her family became outdoor dogs. Therefore, little Koko had never lived inside until she was welcomed into her MAESSR foster home.
Miss Koko has done amazingly well in her new home. She has learned how to use the doggy door and has had no accidents. She is crate trained and sleeps in one at night. Koko does not chew inappropriate items, submissively urinate or counter-surf. She has never bitten or snapped or shown any signs of aggressive behavior with people or animals.
Outside, this young lady does not dig or jump the fence, but does bark if someone is in “her” driveway. The leash was an unfamiliar object to her, but she is quickly learning to walk with it. Koko loves to play fetch with a ball and also thoroughly enjoyed swimming in a lake.
This beauty was recently professionally groomed—a first for her. She did well for the grooming even though she was very scared. She also spent a day at the vet’s to be spayed and have her beautiful teeth cleaned. She bounced back very quickly from those procedures. Koko’s foster mom did start her on an inexpensive supplement to help her with her anxiety over all the new events happening in her life. With that help, she is settling in as if she has always been in her foster home.
MAESSR’s new youngster would love to have a family with children or even older folks who will play ball and go swimming with her. Koko just wants to please people and tries very hard when she is asked to do something new. This adorable little girl is going to make some family think they hit the JACKPOT!!! She is very special and will be so thankful to have a home of her own at turkey time and forever!
