Update 03/30/10:
With some improvements in his health over the last few weeks, Koda is ready to launch his new beginning. One finding by his vet is that Koda had a low thyroid function. He was started on an inexpensive supplement for this and it has really helped his mood and energy levels. He is feeling great now!
Koda has continued to be a wonderful boy in his foster home and is going to be a super addition to some lucky family. Can it be yours?
Original:
Koda came to MAESSR for the saddest of reasons. The father in his family had lost his job and they could no longer afford to keep Koda. His owners were very relieved that MAESSR would be able to find a loving home for him.
When Koda visited the vet with his foster mom, he was Koda was diagnosed as being strongly Lyme positive. Although he is not symptomatic, he will be treated with 30 days of antibiotics. His ears were also infected and are now being treated. During all of this poking and prodding, Koda was a good boy for the entire exam.
This pup has wonderful house manners and a wonderfully sweet temperament. Both crate trained and housetrained, Koda is trustworthy indoors. He also knows many commands, walks well on a leash and loves to ride in the car. His previous owner had done all his grooming and he is fine with everything except his ears. Koda likes playing outdoors and was contained with an invisible fence. Chasing a ball is his favorite activity. This is a great boy for some family to love.
Watch for updates on Koda as his health improves.
