Updated 8/21/05: Kinder is fitting in fine at her foster home and is the least trouble of any dog her family has ever had. Her personality is beginning to come out and now she will look her foster mom in the eye which she would not do on the first ride home. She has found that she is loved and well taken care of, quite a contrast with her former years of living in a garage.
A 9 year old granddaughter visits in Kinder’s foster home and Kinder greets her warmly, wagging that long, fluffy tail of hers. Kinder and the resident dog get along famously and he is glad to have a dog friend in the house. Kinder minds so well that she will come whenever her foster mom calls her. She has one last vet check to make sure all is well and she will be ready to meet her forever family. Kinder will make a wonderful companion for someone wanting a calm, sweet girl who is loving and obedient.
Original: Kinder came into MAESSR’s care as the result of a divorce situation. She had previously been an indoor dog but had been sent to live in the garage in the last few years. Her hair was very matted when she arrived at her foster home, so she received a “shave down” as is seen in her pictures. She’ll be cool for the rest of the summer and will have grown a new coat by the coming winter. She is still housebroken and very grateful to be back in the house with her foster family.
About eight years ago, Kinder was adopted by the surrendering family from the Charlottesville, VA, SPCA. When they adopted her, she had a crooked leg that was the result of a break which had not been set or cared for. The family took her to Virginia Tech Veterinary Hospital and had her leg rebroken and set. The leg now is a little stiff but does not cause her any pain.
Kinder has lived with children as young as newborn. She rides well in the car. She is crate trained but it is not necessary. She has very good manners and does not counter surf, trash pick, or get on furniture. She is really an excellent companion and very easy to live with.
Are you ready for this sweet girl to settle into your home? Kinder will soon be available and only needs a loving family to make her “new beginning” complete.
